Linda Geldner Elected Chair of Local Planning Group

San Diego, CA – Linda Geldner, agency principal for the Geldner Group, was elected Chair of the City of San Diego’s Mira Mesa Community Planning Group. The Planning Group reviews and advises the City on land use, traffic, zoning, development, construction and environmental issues for the community of Mira Mesa (pop. 100,000).

Geldner cited her 30-year career as an architect and senior manager with the U.S. Navy (NAVFAC), experience as base closure manager for Naval Training Center (San Diego) and knowledge of local and regional land-use issues as reasons for her election. She replaces long-time Planning Group chair, Ted Brengel, who was termed out.

In accepting the position, Linda offered her vision for the Planning Group to continue as an effective and important part of the City of San Diego’s planning process. Citing traffic and development as two key issues, Geldner said, “Mira Mesa is facing critical decisions on traffic flow, freeway exits, parking and new developments. Our community needs to stay informed and involved if we want to create positive outcomes from the planning process.”
